Throughput of Russian seaports in 11M’18 grew by 4.2% Y-o-Y to 746.8 million tonnes (detalization)

In January-November 2018, seaports of Russia handled 746.8 million tonnes of cargo (up 4.2%, year-on-year), says press center of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports.

Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 357.1 million tonnes (+5.2%) 149.1 million tonnes of coal (+5.5%), 52.1 million tonnes of grain (+21.2%), 48.8 million tonnes of containerized cargo (+11.4%), 27.6 million tonnes of ferrous metal (+7.7%), 16.2 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers (+0.7%), 5.0 million tonnes of timber (+5.9%), 3.7 million tonnes of metal scrap (+8.7%) and 3.4 million tonnes of non-ferrous metal (+2.3%).

Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 389.7 million tonnes (+3.3%) including 231.4 million tonnes of crude oil (-0.1%), 132.8 million tonnes of oil products (+3.6%) and 20.5 million tonnes of liquefied gas (up 1.6 times). 

Exports totaled 570.6 million tonnes (+3.4%), imports - 34.0 million tonnes (+3.7%), transit - 57.8 million tonnes (+9.2%), short-sea traffic - 84.5 million tonnes (+7.1%).

Operators of seaports in the Arctic Basin handled 83.9 million tonnes (+25.3%, year-on-year) including 55.8 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+38.9%) and 26.1 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+5.0%). The port of Murmansk handled 55.8 million tonnes (+18.9%), Arkhangelsk - 2.6 million tonnes (+19.5%). 

Operators of seaports in the Baltic Basin handled 224.4 million tonnes (-0.5%) including 124.3 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-4.6%) and 100.1 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+5.1%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 90.3 million tonnes (-3.9%), Primorsk - 48.4 million tonnes (-9.0%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 54.2 million tonnes (+11.4%), Vysotsk - 16.9 million tonnes (+5.8%), Kaliningrad - 13.0 million tonnes (+3.5%). 

Operators of seaports in the Azov-Black Sea Basin handled 249.7 million tonnes (+1.9%) including 110.5 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+2.9%) and 139.1 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+1.2%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 140.4 million tonnes (+4.8%), Rostov-on-Don - 15.6 million tonnes (+16.0%), Tuapse - 23.4 million tonnes (-3.6%), Kavkaz - 28.8 million tonnes (-11.3%), Taman - 12.7 million tonnes (-7.4%).

Operators of seaports in the Caspian Basin handled 4.4 million tonnes (+26.2%) including 2.4 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (-3.9%) and 2.0 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (up 2.0 times).  The port of Makhachkala handled 2.3 million tonnes (up 1.9 times), Astrakhan - 1.7 million tonnes (-16.2%). 

Operators of seaports in the Far East Basin handled 184.5 million tonnes (+5.0%) including 116.1 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+7.8%) and 68.4 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+0.6%). Vostochny Port handled 63.7 million tonnes (+0.5%), Vanino - 27.2 million tonnes (+2.1%), Nakhodka - 22.5 million tonnes (+1.9%), Vladivostok - 19.2 million tonnes (+24.5%), De-Kastri - 11.4 million tonnes (+14.3%), Prigorodnoye - 15.4 million tonnes (-2.1%), Posiet - 6.6 million tonnes (-7.7%).

Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports. forwarding and agency companies. scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
