The Black Sea Fleet frigate Admiral Essen has successfully fulfilled missions as part of the permanent formation of the Navy in the Mediterranean Sea, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
The warship’s crew began the passage of the Black Sea’s Bosporus and Dardanelles straits and headed to the point of permanent basing of the Black Sea Fleet’s warships — the city of Sevastopol.
The frigate conducted tasks as part of the permanent formation of the Navy in the Mediterranean Sea from August, 2018. The warship’s overall time at the sea during the year was about 300 days.
During the voyage in the far sea zone, the crew of the frigate took part in the inter-naval exercise under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, during which it conducted a complex of various combat exercises both acting as single warship and as part of a group of warships with conducting artillery fire at surface and air targets, and also practiced anti-submarine tasks.
