Throughput of port Kavkaz in 2018 grew by 11% Y-o-Y to 49.276 million tonnes

In 2018, port Kavkaz handled 49.276 million tonnes of cargo (+11%, year-on-year). According to statistics obtained by IAA PortNews regional correspondent from the port Authority, exports via the port’s offshore transshipment facility increased by 26% to 18.343 million tonnes.

Transshipment of grain grew by 70% to 24.508 million tonnes, coal – 2.9 times to 1.658 million tonnes while transshipment of sulfur plunged by 54% to 1.590 million tonnes. Transshipment of oil products remained flat, year-on-year, at 12.215 million tonnes.

In 2018, passenger traffic plunged 4.1 times to 1,406,667 passengers.

Bunker sales at port Kavkaz increased by 28% to 429,800 tonnes.

The number of calls to port Kavkaz fell by 25% to 22,202 calls.
