2nd conference on transportation of dangerous cargoes to address application of IMDG Code and ADR Agreement in Russia

Representatives of RF Transport Ministry will tell about application of IMDG Code (International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code) and ADR Agreement (International transport of dangerous goods by road) in Russia at the second conference “Dangerous cargoes: new transportation requirements” on 12 March 2019.

The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code is considered and extension to the provisions of SOLAS chapter VII. The IMDG Code was given a mandatory status in 2004.

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has recently granted an authority to confirm conformity of dangerous cargo containers to Central Marine Research and Design Institute (CNIIMF JSC). As of today, containers for maritime transportation of dangerous goods can be tested in the laboratories of Marine Engineering Bureau, CNIIMF and Krylov State research Center.

The European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (“ADR”) applies to EU member states and a significant number of other signatory countries around the world (total number of states - 48). ADR2019 applies from 1 January 2019.
