In January 2019, port Kavkaz handled 1.821 million tonnes of cargo (-8%, year-on-year). According to statistics obtained by IAA PortNews regional correspondent from the port Authority, exports via the port’s offshore transshipment facility increased by 38% to 669,000 million tonnes.
Exports from port Kavkaz surged 2.6 times to 130,000 tonnes while imports plunged by 56% to 8,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic – by 30% to 1.3 million tonnes.
Transshipment of grain grew by 55% to 848,000 tonnes, coal – 4.8 times to 434,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, transshipment of oil products dropped by 38% to 323,000 tonnes, inert aggregate and ore – by 27% to 103,000 tonnes, sulfur – by 82% to 16,000 tonnes.
In 2018, passenger traffic plunged 82 times to 2,703 passengers.
Bunker sales at port Kavkaz increased by 28% to 11,100 tonnes.
The number of calls to port Kavkaz fell by 76% to 419 calls.
