    Throughput of Port St. Petersburg in Jan-Apr'2019 grew by 2% Y-o-Y to 19.67 million tonnes

    In January-April 2019, the Port of St. Petersburg handled 19.67 million tonnes of cargo (+2%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, transshipment of oil products increased by 5% to 2.93 million tonnes, dry bulk cargo – declined by 1% to 2.71 million tonnes, general cargo – down 11% to 4.13 million tonnes, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo – down 5% to 419,000 tonnes. In the reporting period, transshipment of dry loose cargo surged by 59% to 156,100 tonnes including 127,600 tonnes of timber (+39%).

    The port’s container throughput increased by 9% to 766,627 TEUs.

    In 2018, the port handled 59.32 mln t of cargo, its container throughput was 2.7 mln TEUs.
