Throughput of Rostov-on-Don port in 5M’19 fell by 8% Y-o-Y to 7.197 million tonnes

In January-May 2019, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 7.197 million tonnes of cargo (-8%, year-on-year), the port told IAA PortNews.

In the reporting period, loading totaled 5.728 million tonnes which accounts for 79.6% of total throughput (-10%, year-on-year).

Transshipment of transit cargo grew by 4% to 1.317 million tonnes (18.3% of total throughput).

Thus, unloading totaled 152,000 tonnes (-20%, year-on-year).

In the reporting period, transshipment of grain accounted for 31% of the total throughput, oil products – for 29%, non-grain dry bulk cargo – for 15%.

The Harbour Master’s office says the number of calls totaled 2,324 units.
