Project documentation for construction of Nizhny Novgorod hydroengineering facility completed - Victor Vovk
Project documentation for construction of Nizhny Novgorod hydroengineering facility has been developed by a designer with the development of documents for sate expert approval underway, Victor Vovk, deputy head of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency) told regional correspondent of IAA PortNews.
According to him, a number of problems requiring a serious and thorough approach have emerged during the designing of the facility. Experts of Glavgosexpertiza will let find solutions of the issues raised, assured Victor Vovk.
He also emphasized that the hydrosystem construction is essential for the country development and, therefore, should be implemented properly.
“All requirements set forth in the state contract, particularly compliance with environmental standards and population safety have been specified and, undoubtedly fulfilled. The project will not be implemented until it is finally elaborated”, he said.
The construction of the Nizhny Novgorod hydroengineering facility (Nizhegorodsky hydrosystem) focused on debottlenecking of the Volga river navigation is a federal project of a special significance for the entire country. According to RF Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh, this project success is essential for numerous strategic tasks including creation of basic conditions for facilitation of the country’s economic development and transport connections between the regions, integration of Russia into the system of international transport corridors, ensuring national defence potential particularly depending on adequate use of the Unified Deep Water System of the Russian Federation.
