Throughput of Rostov-on-Don port in 8M’19 fell by 4.5% Y-o-Y to 14.8 million tonnes

In January-August 2019, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 14.8 million tonnes of cargo, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Daniil Buslenko, Acting Harbour Master of the port, as saying at the open meeting.

Sergei Safonichev, head of Azov Sea Ports Administration, said it makes 95.5% of the port’s throughput in the same period of the previous year.

According to Daniil Buslenko, imports totaled 300,000 tonnes, exports – 8.1 million tonnes including 2 million tonnes of short-sea traffic, 1.2 million tonnes of export transit and 3.2 million tonnes of internal transit.

In the reporting period, loading totaled 10 million tonnes, unloading – 400,000 tonnes, transit – 4.3 million tonnes.

According to the speaker, grain turnover totaled 5.1 million tonnes (34.5%), crude oil and oil products – 4.4 million tonnes (29.9%), non-grain bulk cargo - 2 million tonnes (13.9%), coal and coke (1.8 million tonnes (12.1%).

The number of calls – 5,120.

Daniil Buslenko also said that August throughput of the port totaled 2.6 million tonnes including 1.5 million tonnes of loaded cargo, 68,000 tonnes of unoaded carg, 1 million tonnes of transit. The number of calls – 1,022.
