In January-October 2019, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 19.6 million tonnes of cargo (-7%, year-on-year), the Harbour Master’s office of the port told IAA PortNews.
In the reporting period, loading totaled 12.8 million tonnes (-8%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of transit cargo fell by 6% to 6.6 million tonnes.
Thus, unloading totaled 600,000 tonnes (+8%, year-on-year).
In the reporting period, transshipment of grain fell by 28% to 7 million tonnes, oil products – by 8% to 6 million tonnes. Transshipment of non-grain bulk cargo doubled to 3 million tonnes, coal – increased by 35% to 2.3 million tonnes.
The Harbour Master’s office says the number of calls fell by 7% to 7,068 calls.
