In accordance with the combat training plan, one of the diesel submarines of the Pacific Fleet during the exercise carried out an attack in the Sea of Japan at an anti-submarine strike group and a detachment of ships of a mock enemy, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Surface anti-submarine action group consisting of small anti-submarine ships "Koreets" and "Metel", and Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft conducted an anti-submarine search in the combat training range of Peter the Great Bay.
The submarine, despite the active actions of anti-submarine forces, managed to secretly enter the area and successfully attack the tactical group with two practical torpedoes.
A little later, the submariners solved the task of attacking a detachment of ships of a mock enemy, which, in addition to small anti-submarine ships, included the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Vinogradov. In this episode of the exercise, the entire algorithm of actions when launching the attack was practically worked out, with the exception of the actual torpedo fire.
