Port of Gdynia completed modernization and redevelopment of its video surveillance system
The Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. ended successfully one of its strategic project at the Security and Monitoring Department – i.e. the Port’s New Eyes. The project consisted in modernization and redevelopment of the video surveillance system for protecting quays and port entry gates.
W Within the investment the number of cameras monitoring port areas grew nearly twofold, including areas previously outside the camera range. The modernized system is also a quality leap. New cameras provide a better image resolution and enable night surveillance. The system’s another great asset is its modularity. This means that it is possible to include new cameras in the existing CCTV system, enabling to maintain its cohesion even in the perspective of the large investment plans of the Port of Gdynia, such as Logistic Valley or the Outer Port.
The project is of paramount importance from the security point of view. Application of technologically advanced solutions will make it possible to observe the Port of Gdynia areas comprehensively, letting services providing security at the Port, such as Security Agency, dispatchers or Port Fire Service, act even more efficiently.
