Ewl adds seventh vessel to Mainliner service
Europe West Indies Lines says it has upgraded its Mainliner Service to Canada/North America, the Caribbean, the north coast of South America and Central America with the addition of a seventh vessel, a move that will ensure fixed-day weekly schedule reliability.
The carrier said the additional vessel means unexpected delays due to bad weather and/or port congestion will be avoided and will allow the line to improve service by adding direct calls to Bridgetown, Barbados, and Rio Haina, Dominican Republic, ports previously served by feeder or slot-charter agreements.
Connections to all other EWL fixed-day weekly services, including Intercaribbean services, will be adjusted to ensure links to ports still served by EWL's dedicated feeders.
The port rotation for the EWL Mainliner Service is Foynes, Ireland; Rotterdam (connecting with EWL's West Indies Express Service); Bilbao (rail connections with Barcelona and Valencia); Halifax (rail connections with Montreal and Toronto); Philipsburg, St. Maarten (connecting with Virgin Islands, Leeward and Windward feeders); Bridgetown (connecting with EWL's Caricom Service); Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago (connecting with EWL's Caricom and West Indies Express services); La Guaira and Puerto Cabello; Venezuela; Rio Haina, and Cartagena and Santa Marta, Colombia (connecting with EWL's Caribbean Express Service); Puerto Cortes, Honduras (intermodal connections with Nicaragua); and Santo Tomas, Guatemala (connecting with EWL's Belize feeder and intermodal with El Salvador).
