Philippines may place orders in Primorye for construction of cutters and ferries

Confirmation of it, according to the words of the Consul, is a recent visit to Philippines of the representative delegation from the Council of Federation of Russia, during which questions of mutually beneficial economic cooperation were discussed. The Primorsky Territory also can actively take part in these bilateral relations. Philippines count on our support in development of ship-repairing and ship-building on the islands. There is a lot of man power in the country, but also there's lack of qualified specialists, constructors and engineers. The authorities of Sebu province have ambitious plans: to create in the region a centre of ship-building industry, serving not only their country, but also neighboring countries. Also Philippines authorities consider placing the orders in Primorye for construction of cutters of coastguard and cargo-passenger ferries. Philippines is a country of numerous islands and Primorye ferries would help to solve a problem of connection between island territories. - In your person we would like to receive support of our initiatives, Lady Consul said, addressing Victor Gorchakov. It will show Russian and Primorye businessmen interest to bilateral cooperation on the level of State authorities. The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Victor Gorchakov supported offered ideas and agreed to help the Philippines party in establishment of relations with Primorye scientific-research institutes and representatives of banks.
