The freight forwarding element of Maersk Logistics will integrate with Dutch forwarding company Damco Sea & Air, and trade under the Damco name July 1.
The new Damco will continue to provide freight forwarding services to customers through a global network of local branch offices with local staff who understand the local market conditions.
The AP Moller - Maersk Group acquired Damco Sea & Air in 2005 in connection with the acquisition of P&O Nedlloyd. Damco Sea & Air was the forwarding arm of P&O Nedlloyd and was established in 1988.
