Ningbo-Europe trade soared 41.3pc January to May
From January to May, the value of Ningbo's trade with Europe jumped by 41.3 per cent year on year to US$8.32 billion, Xinhua reported.
Export value rose 40.8 per cent to $7.42 billion. Imports were valued at $899 million, up by 45.5 per cent. Import value in May surged 67.3 per cent over the same month a year ago to $184 million.
The value of general trade increased by 40.7 per cent to $6.98 billion, accounting for 83.9 per cent of the total trade value in the period from January to May. Products exported in the form of general trade valued $6.29 billion, up by 38.1 per cent.
Germany, the UK and Italy were Ninbo's three biggest European trading partners from January to May. With Germany, Ningbo trade rose 41 per cent to $1.65 billion, with the UK, it was up 40.8 per cent to $1 billion, and with Italy it rose by 39.2 per cent to US$876 million.
