Throughput of Vladivostok Container Terminal up 26% in H1 07, y-o-y
In January-June 200t, throughput of Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT, Far East) totaled 88,182 TEU (+26%, or +70,084 TEU, year-on-year), the company’s press release states. In June 2007, the terminal handled 18,205 TEU against 11,272 TEU in June 2006 (+62%, year-on-year).In the first half of the year container export grew by 36 % – from 25,290 TEU to 34,422 TEU. In June 2007, transshipment of export containers amounted to 7,244 TEU against 4,559 TEU in June 2006 (+59%, year-on-year). Handling of import containers climbed by 33 % – from 23,454 TEU in January-June 2006 to 31,200 TEU in January-June 2007. In June, import surged by 44 % – to 6,548 TEU from 4,537 TEU in June 2006.In H1 2007, volume of coastal trade cargo handled at VCT grew by 6% to 22,560 TEU from 21,340 TEU in H1 2006. In June 2007, transshipment of coastal trade cargo more than doubled to 4,413 TEU against 2,176 TEU in June 2006. Loaded/empty containers ratio made 54.67% against 45.33% respectively in H1 2007.
