Throughput of the port of Tallinn up 4.9% in H1 07, y-o-y

In January-June 2007, throughput of the port of Tallinn made 21.729 million tonnes (+4.9%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. Handling of ro-ro cargo grew to 1.780 million tonnes (+9.6%); containerized cargo – by 16.9%; coal – to 3.523 million tonnes (+3.8%) and metal scrap – by 9.4% to 347 thou tonnes. Transshipment of crude totaled 644.5 thou tonnes (2.4-fold increase, year-on-year), grain - 788.8 thou tonnes, fertilizers - 1.095 million tonnes. However, handling of oil products totaled 12.376 million tonnes (- 0.2%).

In June, transshipment of coal decreased by 71.3% (against May), metal scrap – by 60.5%, fertilizers – by 13.8%. Transshipment of non-ferrous metal and grain fell by 4.5% and 1.8% respectively. However, handling of oil products grew by 2.5%, ferrous metal – 3-fold.
