In January-June throughput of Odessa Commercial Seaport grew by 18.7%, year-on-year, to 16.71 million tonnes, RZD-Partner reports according to Interfax referring to the port’s marketing department. Transshipment of dry cargo grew by 14% - to 8.38 million tonnes including 1.45 million tonnes of grain (+37.7%), 623.4 thou tonnes of raw sugar (+60.2%), 2.02 million tonnes of containerized cargo (+20.2%), 3.09 million tonnes of ferrous metal (-10.6%).Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo grew by 23.7% - to 8.33 million tonnes including 5.63 million tonnes of oil (+34.3%), 2.34 million tonnes of oil products (+6.1%), 261.9 thou tonnes of liquefied gas (+21.9%).
Commercial Seaport of Odessa is Ukraine's largest seaport. In 2006 it handled over 28 million tonnes of cargo (+4.3%, year-on-year).
