Throughput of Klaipeda port up 11.8% in H1 07, y-o-y

13.199 mln tons of cargoes were handled in the port of Klaipeda in H1 of 2007 (+11.8% year-on-year).
The volume of liquid bulk increased by 3.4% to 4. 746 mln tons. The volume of oil products amounted to 3.880 mln tons (-0.8%), liquid chemical cargoes – to 70.9 thousand tons (+26.4%), other liquid bulk – to 12.1 thousand tons.
The volume of solid bulk increased by 6% to 3.777 mln tons. The volume of handled fertilizers amounted to 2.407 mln tons (+53.1%), ferroalloy – to 17.9 thousand tons (-37%), scrap metal – to 32.81 thousand tons (-8.6%).
Handling of general cargoes totalled to 4.594 mln tons (+28.4% year-on-year), timber – to 34.82 thousand tons (+13.9%), ferrous metal – to 24.73 thousand tons (+12.1%), fertilizers – to 18.1 thousand tons.
Handling of refrigerating cargoes increased by 42.9%, containerized cargoes – by 47.9%.
The container turnover of the port grew by 41.7% and amounted to 150,470 TEU.
