FESCO opens Arctic navigation
Diesel motor vessel of the Far-Eastern Shipping Company "Vasiliy Golovin" delivered a shipment of cargoes for northern region to Chukotka from the port Everet (USA), having started the Arctic navigation by vessels of the company, vladivostoktimes.com reports.On board of the vessel there is cargo of mine equipment and machinery for mining industry of Chukotka autonomous district. It has delivered for mines of the region nearly 4 thousand tons of mechanisms, equipment and explosives for deep mining.During current navigation the motor ship "Igarka" will fulfill two similar voyages from ports of the USA to Pevek. The company plans putting of two more vessels for delivery of general cargoes to the port. Earlier, in the framework of delivery to the districts with limited terms of navigation, motor ships of FESCO "Captain Shevchenko," "Captain Lyubchenko" and "Abakan" arrived to Chukotka. They have delivered several thousand tons of construction materials, cement, machinery and containers to the residents of the district. At present time bulk carriers continue work on transportation of coal between ports of Chukotka autonomous district and the Kamchatka Territory. In total it is planned to transport almost 180 thousand tons of coal by these vessels. In the framework of linear service Vladivostok - Anadyr container vessel "Captain Gnezdilov" works on regular time-table.
Vessels of the transport Group of FESCO every year transport several hundreds of different cargoes in the framework of northern delivery. Last year the company provided delivery of over 900 thousand tons of cargo to the residents of northern regions. Transport supply of the North by vessels of FESCO is fulfilled in the period of annual summer navigation from May to November.
