Grand Alliance launches first Tianjin-US east coast container service
The German-flag Ludwigshafen Express of the Grand Alliance recently called at Tianjin Port, marking the launch of the first container service between Tianjin and the US east coast, Xinhua reported.
The Grand Alliance has deployed eight container vessels on the new service that calls at Tianjin, Dalian, Ningbo, Shanghai, New York and Busan.
The Grand Alliance, that consists of NYK, OOCL, MISC and Hapag-Lloyd, has already been operating three container services in Tianjin and the first two include a US west coast service and a European service.
Tianjin handled 3.36 million TEU in the first half of this year, an increase of 20.62 per cent year on year.
