Kombiverkehr extends Rotterdam-Poland service
Kombiverkehr and its Rotterdam agent Optimodal want to extend their rail service between Rotterdam and Poland substantially in the autumn. The trains operating on this service will no longer call at the Maasvlakte and the Rail Service Centre one after the other, but independently.
According to Optimodal, this will more or less double the service. The result is not only more capacity, but also fewer delays. After all, if a train is held up at one terminal, this will have no effect on trains at the other terminal. The turnaround time for all of Kombiverkehr/Optimodal’s Rotterdam trains is therefore reduced.
Kombiverkehr also says, in an interview with next Wednesday’s Nieuwsblad Transport, that it will start operating rail services on the Betuwe Line at the end of the year, in December at the latest.
