Volume of cargo carried by North Western Shipping Company up 10% in H1 07, y-o-y

In the first half of 2007, 100 cargo carriers of North Western Shipping Company were deployed for transportations between the ports of Baltic, North, Black, Azov and Mediterranean Seas. According to the press release, the company carried 2.628 million tonnes ofcargo (+10%, year-on-year).

Transportation of grain and grain products grew by 11 thou tonnes, coal - by 8 thou tonnes, ferrous and manganese ore – by 9.5 thou tonnes, construction cargo – by 61.8 thou tonnes, chemical and mineral fertilizers – by 160 thou tonnes. Transshipment of timber stayed a the level of 2006.
