Ventspils Grain Terminal handles over 260 thou tonnes of Kazakhstan grain in H1 07
In January-June 2007, Ventspils Grain Terminal (VGT) specializing in transshipment and storage of grain, handled over 260 thou tonnes of Kazakhstan grain (3-fold growth), the company reports according to RZD-Partner. In the first half of 2006 VGT handled 90 thou tonnes of grain while throughout the year of 2006 its result was some 120 thou tonnes. “The customers are very active in cooperation with the port as a whole and with our company in particular. We mostly handle large-capacity vessels (over 60,000 tonnes). We are likely to keep the same growth rate in the second half of the year,” Vladislav Shafranski, VGT BOD Chairman said. He also said the company has good relations with Latvian and Lithuanian exporters of grain.
