First tanker of over 100,000 tonnes in deadweight accepted in the port of Nakhodka

On July 27, the port of Nakhodka has for the first time accepted a tanker with deadweight exceeding 100,000 tonnes. The Ocean Crown (Singapore) moored at Nakhodka oil port, news service of Primorsk television reports. The loading is to take a number of days after which the tanker is to continue its way to South-East Asia.

According to experts of oil terminal the tanker’s length is 245 meters, breadth - 40 meters, draft – 15.6 meters. The construction of the vessel was finished several days ago at the shipyard of Korea Republic.

The port of Nakhodka may accept oil tankers with cargo capacity of up to 200,000 tonnes. Commercial Seaport of Nakhodka may accept motor ships of up to 40,000 dwt, while Nakhodka fishing port may accept any fishing vessels.

In future, the port of Nakhodka will be able to handle tankers of 300,000 in capacity for which new oil terminal will be built in the Bay of Kozmino. It will be used for transshipment of East Siberian oil to the states of APR. Besides Nakhodka, two other terminals are able of accepting 100,000-dwt tankers at the Pacific coast of Russia: De-Castri port in Khabarovsk region and LNG plant built at the shore of Aniva Bay (south of Sakhalin).
