Russia intends to participate actively in the project of connecting the Trans-Korean and Trans-Siberian Railways, Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation stressed according to vladivostoktimes.com referring to Interfax.
"We believe that Russia's active participation in the project of connection of the Trans-Korean and Trans-Siberian Railways, promotion of some other economic projects in the Korean peninsula will really make Seoul and Pyongyang closer to each other," V.Putin said at the ceremony of handing the credentials to the Head of the state by the Ambassadors of foreign states on Friday.
As the President stressed, Russia is ready for the further interaction with the Republic of Korea during the six-parties negotiations, and in attaining the treaty on the first steps of ensuring the non-nuclear status of the Korean peninsula.
