Throughput of Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company up 35% in Jan-Aug 07, y-o-y

In January-August 2007, throughput of Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company LLC grew by 35%, year-on-year to 241,746 TEU, the company’s press release reads.  In August the company handled 32,495 TEU (+44%, year-on-year). Export climbed 40% to 90,538 TEU in January-August including 12,767 TEU in August (+64%). Transshipment of import containers totaled 138,585 TEU (+43%) including 18,683 TEU handled in August (+40%). In the eight-month period, transshipment of transit containers fell by 67% to 2,708 TEU. Volume of coastal-trade containers totaled 9,915 TEU (+8 %) including 919 TEU in August (-28%).

In January-August 07, the structure of the company’s cargo flow was as follows: import – 57.32 %, export – 37.5 %, coastal trade – 4.1 %, transit – 1.1 %.
