BAE Systems wins 9.3 mln usd deal with Maersk Line
BAE Systems has won a 9.3 mln usd contract from Maersk Line Ltd, a unit of AP Moller-Maersk AS, for the drydocking and preservation of the USNS Soderman, one of 19 Military Sealift Command ships.
The 55-day work package will begin in mid-September, and all work will take place at BAE Systems Ship Repair in Norfolk, Virginia, BAE said in a statement.
As well as maintenance and repairs to propulsion systems and machinery and preservation of the vessel's hull, tanks and topside areas, the contract includes ship security upgrades and repairs to electrical and piping systems
