In January-August 2007, Commercial Seaport of Iljichevsk handled 10.407 million tonnes of export-import cargo (+5%, year-on-year), the company’s press center reports according to OdesInform. Handling of general cargo grew by 6.5% to 5.743 million tonnes (+10.5% against plan). Container handling totaled 2.133 million tonnes, or 306,825 TEU (+106,562 TEU, year-on-year). The ferry service handled 1.47 million tonnes (+77 thou tonnes against plan and +33 thou tonnes, year-on-year). Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 1.149 million tonnes (+5.57% against plan and +13.66%, year-on-year), dry bulk cargo - 3.515 million tonnes including 1.55 million tonnes of grain.
In the 8-month period the port handled 1,793 vessels (+38, year-on-year) and 124,359 wagons.
In August the port handled 1.218 million tonnes of export-import cargo including 790 thou tonnes of general cargo (+21.5% against plan and +9.9%, year-on-year). Container handling totaled 302 thou tonnes, or 46,691 TEU (+21,373 TEU, year-on-year). The ferry service handled 153 thou tonnes of cargo (+34.6% against plan). Handling of liquid bulk cargo amounted to 80 thou tonnes including 19 thou tonnes of oil, 4 thou tonnes of liquefied gas. Handling of bulk cargo totaled 348 thou tonnes including 67 thou tonnes of grain. In August the port handled 238 vessls (+20, year-on-year) and 13,132 wagons.
