Georgian port of Poti raises transshipment of oil products

In the first half of 2007, Georgian port of Poti increased transshipment of oil products 3-fold as compared with the same period of the previous year, NewsGeorgia reports. The increase is attributed to transportation of refined diesel fuel from Turkmenia. Export of light oil products via the port of Poti exceeded 630,000 tonnes (220,000 inport of Poti. From June 30, 2006 till June 30, 2007, export of low-sulfur diesel fuel refined at Turkmenia’s largest refinery totaled 235,000 tonnes. In 2006, it totaled 163,381 tonnes.

Transshipment of crude delivered from Caspian fields decreased to 845,300 tonnes in July 07 from 1.067 million tonnes in July 2006.
