In January-August 2007, throughput of the port of Klaipeda (Lithuania)totaled 18.146 million tonnes (+16.4%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. Dry fertilizers accounted for 48.1% of all cargo handled in the port in the reported period, containers – 44.2%, liquid fertilizers – 42.3% (1.03 million tonnes). Transshipment of oil products totaled 5.21 million tonnes (+5.9%, year-on-year). Container loading grew by 44% to 206.9 units, while loading of ro-ro cargo grew by 12% to 146,800 units.
In August 07, the port’s throughput totaled 2.448 million tonnes (+27.7%).
