TransContainer signs agency agreement with Kintetsu World Express (Japan)

In late July 2007, TransContainer signed an agency agreement with Japanese company Kintetsu World Express (KWE), one of the world’s largest logistics companies, TransContainer’s press center reports. Under the agreement, KWE will offer TransContainer’s services on cargo transportation by Trans-Siberia railway to Japanese businessmen.

According to the source, TransContainer conts on increase of cargo flow from Japan. The company plans to dispatch at least 500 container from Japan In October and in November, while in 2008 the figure is likely to reach 1,000 containers per month.

At first, the cargo is to go from Japanese ports via Korean port of Pusan. However, in future it is to go directly to the ports of Nakhodka and Vostochny. The rout will decrease the delivery period to 15-17 days (from Japan to Moscow region) from 40 – 45 days.
