Capacity of mainland China's commercial vessel fleet has surpassed 60 million deadweight tonnes and became the fourth largest in the world, said Hu Hanxiang, director of Cross-Straits Shipping Exchange Association.
The mainland now has 13 ports whose throughput is over 100 million tons and a shipbuilding capacity of 14.52 million deadweight tonnes which is the third largest in the world and accounts for 19 per cent of the world's shipbuilding market, Xinhua reports.
