In January-August 2007, throughput of Odessa commercial seaport (Ukraine) totaled 21.3 million tonnes (+12.8%, year-on-year), the port’s administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. Handling of liquid bulk cargo grew by 15.3% - to 10.5 million tonnes, dry cargo – by 10.4% to 10.9 million tonnes including 3.7 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+43.7%). In August 2007, transshipment of containerized cargo grew by 31.3% - to 408,000 tonnes, ore – by 43.5% to 152,400 tonnes, coal – by 41.8% to 53,900 tonnes while shipment oil cargo fell by 27% - to 951,400 tonnes.
In 2006, throughput of Odessa commercial seaport grew by 4.3% - to 28.1 million tonnes, the port’s net profit climbed by 5% to 127.5 million hryvnias.
