Ningbo makes deal with Shangrao city to speed customs clearance

Ningbo Port Group has entered an agreement to co-operate with government of Shangrao, a hinterland city in central China's Jiangxi province, on simplifying customs clearance for transshipments, Xinhua reported.
The two sides will jointly set up a facility in Shangrao to offer one-stop customs service, which has convenient access to transportation near a railway station and an expressway and has a facility which covers an area of 33.3 hectares.
The first phase of the facility covers 20 hectares and is able to handle 50,000 TEU or three million tons a year. After completion in September next year, the first phase is expected to generate annual revenue of CNY800 million (US$108 million). The second phase covers 13.3 hectares but has the same capacity as the first phase and scheduled to open by September 2009.
