Gazprom Neft has launched construction of a gas turbine plant in the south part of the Priobskoye field, tapped by Gazpromneft-Khantos, finamrus.com reports. The decision to build in-house utilities capacities on the Priobskoye field is due to higher crude output and therefore, stronger demand for electricity, which could climb to 100 mW by 2010. Construction will be implemented in two stages. The first stage of the power plant will have 48 mW capacity and it will be built on the basis of four gas turbine energy units with 12 mW nominal capacity. The first stage is slated for commissioning in Q207 and the decision on whether to build the second stage will be adopted in 2008.
