Broström reports a pre-tax result of SEK 450 million (EUR 48.3 million) in 2007, down by SEK 130 million (EUR 14 million) compared to 2006. Net sales amounted to SEK 3,504 million (EUR 376 million), up by SEK 118 million (EUR 12.7 million) compared to the year before. The result was negatively affected by weak spot rates during the third and the first part of the fourth quarter. For 2008, the company expects a continued underlying positive trend, but with major fluctuations from time to time.
At year’s end, the Broström operated fleet consisted of 86 vessels and 16 newbuildings in the orderbook. An external valuation shows that the fleet value, including newbuildnings and options, exceed the booked value by SEK 2.7 billion (EUR 290 million).
The board proposes a dividend of SEK 3 (EUR 0.32) per share, corresponding to a dividend yield of six per cent based on the closing price 2007.
