Fujian province will add 2,000 kilometres of railway with an investment of about CNY120 billion (US$17.15 billion) in the next 5-10 years, said Zhu Huigang, vice director general of Nanchang Railway Bureau.
Total length of the railway network of Fujian will go to 4,800 kilometres with the additional 2,000 kilometres, a report of Xinhua said.
Fujian will start work on a number of rail projects in the next few years, including the upgrade of Hengfeng-Fuzhou Railway, second Ganzhou-Longyan Railway, Beijing-Fuzhou Railway, expansion of Nanping-Sanming-Longyan Railway, expansion of Zhangping-Quanzhou-Xiaocuo Railway, Changting-Yongan Railway, Quzhou-Ningde Railway, Fuzhou-Xiamen-Zhangzhou-Longyan Railway, Costal Freight Railway, Pucheng-Jianning-Longyan Railway and Zhangzhou Gangwei Railway, the report said.
