GreenCarrier acquires Oy FCS Logistics in Finland
GreenCarrier International, the logistics arm of the Gothenburg-based Bjork.Eklund Group, has strengthened its position in the Nordic region through the acquisition of the Finnish forwarding company Oy FCS Logistics Ltd.
Founded in 1995, Oy FCS offers international air and sea container transport services and has a global agent network. As an IATA approved forwarder, FCS Logistics has contracts with major airlines around the world and also offers charter transport and onboard couriers.
It is anticipated that the FCS Logistics operation will eventually be fully integrated into GreenCarrier International.
FCS handles high value and time-sensitive goods, arranging direct routings for particularly urgent shipments, such as ships' spares, medical equipment and medicines. FCS also closely monitors individual movements to ensure they are loaded onboard and sent as scheduled, a statement from GreenCarrier said.
A particular speciality is the transport of livestock including pets, horses, cattle and poultry. Pick-up and delivery, kennels, quarantine, veterinarians and flight reservations can be organised with an emphasis use of airlines and schedules that are best for the well-being of the animals.
GreenCarrier has offices in Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania and Asia to offer shipping services between northern Europe and the Far East.
