Throughput of Murmansk Commercial Seaport up 2.3% to 8.126 million tonnes in Jan- July 08

In Jan- July, 2008, Murmansk Commercial Seaport handled 8.126.557 tonnes of different cargoes (+2.3%, year-on-year), the company informs. In the reported period, the company handled 298 vessels and 119 292 wagons including 13,820 wagons with coal.
In July, the port handled 1.115.267 tonnes of different cargoes (+31%, year-on-year). The port handled 15,988 wagons including 12,290 wagons with coal and 40 vessels.
Transshipment of export cargo grew by 3.2%, year-on-year, to 1.072.901 tonnes including 892.700 tons of coal, 154,700 tonnes of apatite, 11,300 tonnes of non-ferrous metal. Total transshipment of general cargo amounted to 58,900 tonnes, which makes 4.5% against the result of the same period in 2007, dry bulk - 1.564 million tonnes (+2.7%, year-on-year).
