Port of Dalian, which is the largest in northeast China, saw its container throughput grow 23.8 per cent year on year to 2.15 million TEU in the first half of this year, representing 47.8 per cent of its annual target throughput, reported Xinhua.
Overall tonnage of the cargo handled by the port rose 12.3 per cent to 120 million tonnes, which took up 50 per cent of its annual target.
Dalian's Zhoushuizi International Airport received 3.66 million travellers, a 17 per cent increase over the same period last year.
During this period, Dalian city's transportation industry achieved a cargo/passenger turnover volume of 222.5 billion tonnes per kilometre, an increase of 13 per cent.
