Keppel Corp rig building unit Keppel Fels (KepFels) on Saturday delivered the second of four jack-up drilling rigs to Maersk Contractors three days ahead of schedule.

The rig was named Maersk Resolute by Anette Bjerge, wife of Dong Energy executive vice-president Soren Gath Hansen.
Maersk Resolute is the second in a series of four high efficiency jack-ups being built by Keppel Fels for Maersk Contractors. The rig has been contracted to Dong Energy for operations in the Danish part of the North Sea for three years.
Deliveries of these rigs are scheduled at half-yearly intervals. The first rig, Maersk Resilient, was delivered in February and has commenced operations for Dubai Petroleum at the Fateh U platform in Dubai waters.
'The early delivery of Maersk Resolute is yet another significant milestone in the longstanding cooperation between KepFels and Maersk Contractors,' said Maersk Contractors CEO Claus Hemmingsen.

Maersk Contractors' series of high efficiency rigs have a maximum operating depth of 350 feet and are suitable for drilling deep, high temperature/high pressure wells of 30,000 feet. They are also highly automated for safe operations.
Maersk Contractors is part of the AP Moller-Maersk Group and is a significant drilling contractor and supplier of floating production solutions.
The fleet consists of 26 drilling rigs and four FPSOs including five high efficiency jack-up rigs, three deepwater development semi-submersibles and one FPSO vessel under construction.
