NYK revises its US East Coast to East Coast of South America service

Japanese line NYK has restructured its US East Coast to East Coast of South America service and will operate it independently with NYK vessels only.
The service called ANS (Atlantic North-South Express Service) will commence in September on a fixed-day weekly period with deployment of six NYK vessels with a capacity of 1,100 TEUs each.
The service will cover the main ports of the East Coast of South America, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and the East Coast of North America.
The port rotation is Navegantes, Santos, Vitoria, Puerto Sucre, Caucedo, Norfolk, New York, Savannah, Caucedo, Puerto Cabello, Navegantes.
The first vessel under the new structure will be Sanuki, south bound, from Norfolk, on September 23 and north bound, the Navegantes, on October 16.
With a dedicated independent service, NYK said it would allow it total control of the service and possibility to offer schedule reliability and flexibility with one of the best transit times in the market. It will be the only service to offer direct sailings through Vitoria port to the East Coast of North America.
