MV Talca ship, reportedly hijacked three days ago by Somalia pirates, arrived off the Somali coastal location of Bargaal, some 400 km north of Eyl, a pirate stronghold, EU NAVFOR Public Affairs Office reports.
MV Talca ship has 23 crew members on board from Sri Lanka, one from the Philippines and one from Syria. The 11.055-dwt ship was bound for ship Busheir in Iran when seized. EU NAVFOR said it would continue to monitor the situation.

Earlier reports said there had been several pirate attacks recently on merchant ships. In addition to the MV Talca, the pirates hijacked MV Frigia, while another attempt failed. In case with MV Almezaan. an armed guard on board of the ship opened fire on the pirates, killing one of them, others were detained by NAVFOR forces.
