Erria A/S had a bad year in 2009 with a dramatic fall in revenue, a large deficit and halving of the equity. The deficit was DKK 155.5 million after net revenues of DKK 66.7 million, down from DKK 80.4 million in 2008. Erria has been hit by a declining market for chemical tankers under 10,000 DWT and container shipping.
During the whole of 2009, Erria had three container carriers laid up in Malmö and a chemical tanker laid up in Copenhagen (the Erria Maria). The laid-up Erria Maria was reactivated in March and signed to a three-year bareboat charter for an Argentinean account for trading in South America. Equity fell from DKK 287.2 million in 2008 to DKK 123.7 million in 2009. Erria’s management considers the result to be unsatisfactory. During the year, the share price on the Danish OMX exchange fell from 79.5 in January to 22.3 in December.
