UCL Holding В.V. consolidates 100% of Universal Transshipment Complex OJSC in port of Ust-Luga

UCL Holding В.V., owing 50% of Universal Transshipment Complex OJSC in the port of Ust-Luga has consolidated 100% of the above company having completed the transaction on acquisition of the rest 50% from other shareholders – Ust-Luga OJSC and Panama-based Progressgroup Foundation.

The acquisition is in compliance with the strategy of UCL Holding BV on its expansion at Russian stevedore market, press center of Sea Port of Saint Petersburg OJSC reports.

Universal Transshipment Complex OJSC is a cargo terminal in the port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad region. The terminal’s throughput is make 4-5 million tonnes of export and import cargo (including coking coal) after it reaches the design capacity. Transfer of environmentally unfriendly bulk cargo from Sea Port of Saint Petersburg to the terminal of Ust-Luga is to improve ecological ci in St. Petersburg. 

Universal Cargo Logistics Holding В.V. is a transport holding controlling Sea Port of Saint Petersburg OJSC and Commercial Seaport of Taganrog OJSC. The Holding’s total throughput exceeds 14 million tonnes of cargo per year.

The holding’s strategy implies consolidation of transport assets including those related to maritime, river and railway transportation as well as stevedore business.
