L&T Shipbuilding plans to invest Rs15bn ($333m) to expand its vessel-building capacity at Kadipully, India.
The company said it will develop the project in phases and the first phase of work is expected to start in 2011.
L&T has acquired about 1,200 acres of land for the project, of which 800 acres will be used to build vessels 210m long and 46m wide.
