Alex Tukavin said the total investment in the terminal project first phase would amount to 1.1 billion rubles to build a terminal of capacity of 650,000 tons of cargo a year. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011.
According to Alexei Tyukavin, the Phase 1 includes completion of transportation and engineering facilities of the terminal, as well as the overhaul of one of the berths.
The MMC Norilsk Nickel’s terminal project at the port of Murmansk is designed for transshipment of 700,000 tons of general cargo and containerized cargo annually. The Company plans to use a 147m-long and 10,5m-deep berth at the port. In the long term – to open the checkpoint at the terminal of Norilsk Nickel in Murmansk, the company said earlier.
