Throughput of SCPI is down 9,9% in Jan-Sept, to 11,1m tons

Cargo turnover of SE Sea Commercial Port of Ilyichevsk (SCPI) in January-September 2010 fell 9.9% compared with the same period in 2009, to 11,107,000 tons, the state-owned enterprise press service said.
In September the stevedoring company handled 1,010,000 tons of cargo, nearly a 28-percent drop from September last year.

In September Ilyichevsk Port reported an increase in handled volume of ore (by 31.2 times), vehicles (by 2,7 times), ferry service cargoes (by 11.9%).

Monthly container traffic rose by 8.8% from last year’s September (24,094 TEUs), nine-month container volume increased by 16.8% (212,03 TEUs).

State-owned Sea Commercial Port of Illyichevsk (Illichivsk) is among the four largest Ukrainian ports. SCPI is located on the northern Black Sea coast, on the banks of Dry estuary. The stevedore’s handling facilities allow transshipping annually over 30 million tons of cargo. In 2009 freight flows via SCPI shrank by 13.8% year-over-year, to 16.286 million tons.
